What is Shea butter?

Our natural Shea butter is organic, 100% pure, unrefined and it is the Shea butter nilotica variety. This rather solid substance becomes more liquid when it is warmed slightly between the hands. Shea Butter can be used every day to rub the skin on the body and face. This gives you silky soft, nourished skin that no longer feels dry. So this shea butter is also ideal for dry skin. The Dutch name for Shea butter is Shea butter.

Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) is pure & unrefined and very economical in use.

Great for use as a maintenance ointment, basic ointment or body butter. The special thing about this Shea butter are the so-called non-saponifiable components. This makes the Shea butter very well tolerated by the skin. For this reason, Shea butter has been used in Africa for centuries to protect and care for (vulnerable) skin. There they suffer much more from the sun than here, so it also had to provide very good care for the skin.

Utilisation

Partly due to the good moisture-binding properties of Shea butter, it is ideal for very dry, chapped skin. It is also often claimed that it has a healing effect on all kinds of skin problems such as psoriasis, scars, pigment spots, eczema, stretch marks and painful muscles.

Skin type: Dry skin, Combination skin, Sensitive skin, Normal skin, Impure skin, Mature skin, Oily skin. This Shea Butter works to prevent wrinkles and contains SPF 58.

Use a small spoon to remove the shea butter from the jar to avoid cross-contamination as much as possible. Apply a small amount to the face, let it melt a little and then spread it over the face. Less = more.

The Shea butter is sustainably produced, naturally extracted and undergoes no refining, yet the aroma is subtle.

Shea Nilotica grows in green areas where it rains much more than on the dry savannah. The women in Ghana take care of the Shea trees and collect the fallen fruits that they dry in the sun. The nuts are then taken to a factory where they are processed into this soft butter.

Shea butter lasts 24 months after opening, is moisturizing, firming for the skin and hypo-allergenic. Can be used by women and men and is even suitable for delicate baby skin.
