Scent Mint oil

Mint essential oil has a fresh, sharp, slightly sweet, minty scent. Mint oil is also called Mint oil or Chinese Mint oil. The smell and effect are largely determined by the menthol in the mint oil.

The menthol content in the Mint oil should be around 45 percent. Essential Mint oil is slightly less sweet than Peppermint oil.

Waar wordt de etherische olie voor gebruikt?

100% pure essential Mint oil is important for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Mint oil is used in candies, drinks, chewing gum, shampoo, cleaning products, toothpaste and mouthwashes.

Because the scent has a fairly dominant overtone, mint oil is hardly used in the perfume industry.

Gebruik

• In de sauna: voeg 24 druppels toe aan een ijsbal of aan het water in de saunabak
• In een aromabranders: voeg 5 tot 10 druppels toe aan het water in een geurbrander
• Op een aromasteen: doe 2 tot 4 druppels op de steen van de aromastone
• In een verstuiver: voeg 2 tot 4 druppels toe aan het water in de diffuser
• In een massageolie: add a maximum of 25 drops of Mint oil to 250 ml of Sweet Almond oil for a natural, refreshing massage oil.
• Voor het stomen: voeg maximaal 1 tot 4 druppels toe aan kokend water en theem met een handdoek over het hoofd
• In het stoombad: voeg 2 tot 4 druppels essentiële olie toe aan een spons en plaats deze in een roestvrijstalen kom onder de stoompijp
• In bad: gebruik onze Me Time badolie voor munt in het bad, anders blijft de etherische muntolie op het water drijven.
  Gebruik in de zomer 25 ml van deze badolie voor het verfrissende effect.
• Apply some Mint oil diluted in Sweet Almond oil to the temples and forehead to combat tension headaches.

Waarschuwingen

• Neem de etherische olie niet onverdund in en breng deze ook niet onverdund aan op de huid.
• Niet gebruiken bij obstipatie en diarree.
• Gebruik bij een gevoelige of beschadigde huid niet meer dan 1 tot 2 druppels, verdund in 100 ml zoete amandelolie.
• Niet gebruiken tijdens de zwangerschap en borstvoeding.
• Niet gebruiken bij kinderen jonger dan 2 jaar.

Mint oil mixes well with

The essential oil mixes well with citrus scents, lavandin, eucalyptus, pine, lemongrass and peppermint oil.

Winnen

De mintplant is lid van de lipbloemigenfamilie en groeit in het grootste deel van Noord-Amerika, Europa en Aziatische landen zoals China, India en Japan.

Andere muntsoorten kruisen gemakkelijk met elkaar, waardoor vele hybriden en cultivars ontstaan. Akkermunt is een zeer bekende munttype.

De Mentha arvensis is een groene plant die tot 45 cm hoog wordt en in China of Japan vaak door middel van stoomdestillatie wordt geëxtraheerd. Voor 1 liter muntolie is 50 tot 100 kilo plantmateriaal van de Mentha arvensis nodig.

Muntolie heeft een transparante tot lichtgroene kleur.
